Having our photos taken by Janessa was more than just a photo shoot, it was an experience that brought our family closer together. In the past, family photos meant a super stressful experience, especially with 4 kids. But Janessas calm, carefree attitude helped my whole family relax and enjoy the process. She has an amazing talent to put her clients at ease and create incredible images. The photos captured real, raw moments that I will cherish forever. Janessa's work is absolutely breathtaking. Our family had the great pleasure to use her for the birth of our little girl. Janessa Parker has been photographing my family since 2014 and the results from our sessions NEVER disappoint. I treasure all of her photos because she has a gift for photographing children in their truest form and gets just the right shots to capture each child and their individual personality.

I recently had my 3rd baby and Janessa came to the hospital to capture the delivery. Normally I would be self-conscious about having another person in the room taking photos but Janessa made it so comfortable and most of the time we didn’t even realize she was in the room. Even in a dark room in the middle of the night she was still able to give us beautiful photos of meeting our sweet boy that make me emotional every time I look at them. Her work never ceases to amaze me!

Janessa was originally scheduled to take our family photos, and then a couple of months later I ended up filing for divorce. I was nervous about what we could do with the photos and was so grateful when she agreed to turn the shoot into a photo session for me and my three boys.

She had me write an email to her explaining what I wanted from the session and it helped me to slow down and prepare myself. She also had me put together a playlist of songs that fit with my session goals. When the day arrived, I was nervous and excited at the same time. Janessa did an incredible job of giving small instructions here and there and then shooting effortlessly as my boys and I interacted. She knew how to make them laugh and just put all of us at ease. When we were finished that evening, I walked away feeling like we definitely had gotten one or two good photos. During the next week though, I expressed anxiety to a friend that maybe I would see the photos and realize that my kids were sad, I was sad, and that we weren't as connected as I had hoped. A few days later though, Janessa sent me the link to our photo album and I spent the next hour bawling my eyes out as I saw photo after photo that just blew my heart wide open. I was completely shocked to see what Janessa had captured. So many priceless moments of unconditional love and safety. It was like getting to see my kids for the very first time. Normally they are go, go, go and to have them frozen in time in such priceless expressions was breathtaking. Janessa had one-on-one moments with each of my kids where I could see for the first time how they look at me and how much they loved me and I loved them. It was one of the most inspiring and transformational moments of my life. I knew without a doubt that I loved them and they knew it. I feel so blessed to have had Janessa take our photos when she did. I could have just canceled from being too afraid that the rawness of the pain we were going through would be too much. But we took a leap, and instead of showing up perfectly done up like we had in every family photo previously, we just came as we were in that moment. And the photos were more beautiful than any we've had before. Janessa is all about capturing real joy and raw truthful emotion. She offers photo shoots that are life changing experiences if you will show up and be vulnerable. I can't recommend that enough. There are plenty of photographers who will capture the perfection. Janessa offers finding beauty in the realness.
